Step 1: Shake Well

Dave N

My PC goes to 7...
A while back while I was using Platinum UPP, I dropped the bottle onto the hard garage floor. It cracked the bottom of the bottle, so I had to transfer the UPP to a ketchup-type bottle that I bought at Wal-Mart. After sitting on the shelf for several days, I noticed that the UPP had separated into two layers. UPP comes in an opaque black bottle, so there is no way to see this if it is in the original bottle. My point here is that you should always SHAKE WELL before using!

Now I keep all of my sealants in smaller plastic bottles, so there is less chance of breakage. That little bottle of UPP has done my truck (w/cap) twice, a full-sized truck twice, and a minivan once. Do you think I'm putting thin enough layers on?:xyxthumbs

I used UPP and it streaked worse than anything I have ever used and I have used just about everything besides Zaino. Any ideas?

I washed, clayed, DACP, Platinum Pre-cleanser, PUPP cured for 3 hours.

Did you shake it up first?:D

Just kidding, kind of. As you can see from the bottles above, if UPP was applied without a good shaking, the "oily" layer may come out of the bottle fist, and perhaps leave streaking. Sometimes new bottles are so full that it's hard to get everything mixed up well.

I have used UPP on 3 different vehicles and have never had a streaking problem. In fact, it's one of the easiest products I've ever used. Are you using MF towels to remove it? I use one MF towel to wipe it off, and then spritz the surface with QD and go over it again with another MF.

Also, did you remember to apply it thin? If conditions are humid, and it was applied on thick, I believe you will get streaky. It could have been that it was not completely dried after 3 hours even, if it was too thick.
