I have had a few people recommend using fine steel wool to really clean my chrome rims of tar and some corrosion? Where do you buy something like this and is it really safe to use on my chrome rims? What's the actual process? DO I wet it first with qd or do i do it in conjuction with chrome cleaner?
 
They were probably referring you to use #0000 (superfine steel wool). Home Depot and Lowes both carry it, often in a multi pack. Never use it dry, always use it with a chrome cleaner. It really would be a last resort though for use on rims. Tar can be removed with other chemicals. What kind of corrosion are you referring to?
 
Yeah home depot has it in multi pack grade and one grades. Use it with metal polish. Thats what I do then I move onto something less harsher.
 
I have some rust looking spots, I posted pictures yesterday but didn't get many replies. The post was Chrome Rim Help.

I think you would get much better info

if you stuck to one thread per question



this has to be like the 10 post you started about these rims

and about 8 post about 4" pads



if all the info in in one post it would be easier for everyone

to help you out...

the point is I would love to help you

but I am not going to search through all your post to find all the info I need to help you





if it was all in one post and there were replys to what you tried and did not try

it would be so much easier for all involved :thx
