State of the Union Address

Who is going to watch the State of the Union Address? If not why?

Myself, I'm going to watch either Cinderella or Aliddin.

All three are xxxxx tales, but the last two will have better endings. :D

Let the flame fest begin

Well, I am listening (somewhat) but it seems like last year's. I think I should have watched Holmes on Homes instead. I've had to use asbestos underwear before; they work good!
Not exactly related, a good book to read on the economy is "Aftershock." After reading through half of it I have less confidence in what the politicians and others say about how well the economy is doing... Halting Iran's nuclear program? Who is he kidding? Persians invented chess; they are certainly up to something while telling us the opposite.

We are doomed.

Worst Congress in many years!

Bingo..you can blame the president all you want, but Congress is a disaster, with that as part of the recipe ANY president regardless of party wouldn't be doing much better.

Lets fix the foundation

The very sad thing about it all is he got elected twice! Says a lot about where this country is? Majorities win. Just find a quite place and hunker down...

The sad part is the majority didn't elect him, the electoral votes did. If you go back to the last election majority of the voters actually voted for Romney.

Who elects the electoral college members?

We do. But if you win the states with the largest number of electoral votes you don't have to have the majority of voters. Make sense?

This is why there was a debate whether the electoral college should be reconsidered after the 2012 election. If you play it properly you can win without the majority of the country.

No it doesn't. Electoral college wins bud. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_College_(United_States). Obama won in states that gave him enough electoral votes to win. There were so many that voted for Romney in some of the Republican states that the majority actually lost.

Although you are correct about the electoral college, the actual vote totals were Obama 65,917,258 - Romney 60,932,235.

The real question is... how many of the 65,917,258 would like to recast their vote?

I'm pretty sure Romney votes wouldn't change their vote.
