Starting new detailing business

Hello everyone,

I have been reading this forum for sometime and have a question about starting a detailing business.

I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and am going to start a detailing business. I am currently in the IT business but my contract runs out in 6 months. I used to detail cars professionally years ago. My plan is to get some clients over the next six months so I will have some income when my contract expires. I have checked out different sites on trailers and equipment. Does anyone have any good suggestions on trailers and equipment. Also, I am looking for some sort of canopy so I can detail vehicles out of the sun.

I noticed that some detailers offer paint chip repair and was wondering if this is very hard to learn.

Any assistance on starting my business would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Autopia Rick.:wavey There was a thread about trailers a few days ago. Personally I think you would be better off financially, if you collected the equipment yourself and bought a good new or used utility trailer to haul the stuff in. Maybe a search will get you all the info you need. :xyxthumbs

Thanks, I found it and makes sense to build your own trailer. Now just to figure out what equipment to buy and how to put it all together. Sounds like a weekend job.

Try contacting Barry at Progessive Surface Care (on Lombardy Lane near Northwest Highway and Loop 12).
