Starting a Mobile Detailing Business

I want to start a new Mobile Detailing Business. I have a few questions and am hoping you can help answer them.

What are the best products to use on the vehicle. From the soap to the wax and wheel cleaner. Also, what is best to use in the interior of the car?

How much time do you tipically spend on a vehicle detail?

Thanks.

Theres no right answer to that. There are literally countless great companies out there to choose from. The time just depends on the vehicles and clients expecations and buget. Some take 2 hours, some take 3 days. I would highly suggest spending some time looking through not only the How To section here, but the Detailers Showcase as well. Check out what others are getting good results from, how they are using those products, etc. There is a lot of homework that has to go into this, as with any business. Being mobile presents a whole different level of complications that you HAVE to consider when buying products. One of them is weather or not they are safe to use in the sun. Youve got to learn how to work in direct sunlight. For that, Poorboys products are the hands down pick, but you still have to know how to use their stuff. Seriously, take it slow and learn the ins and outs before you jump in. Youll thank yourself for it, and so will your clients.

Big Cheese, we are both in the same boat. Both wanting to start a business.. I do have much to learn. But i know for example, Polishing... What polisher to buy for best results? Well, there isn't a best polisher.. You can have the most expensive polisher on the market and still not have good results.. Its all about what suits you. Technique is the key.. How you use the product. You have to find what's best for yourself. Just what the comment above states, "There is A LOT of homework in this profession." Everyday after i leave my job that i hate.. I come here and youtube and research for countless hours. Save some money, try out different products and find what you like.

But mobile detailing is going to be done in the sun regardless.. If you want to do it full time. Poor Boys products can be used in the sun, try them out.

Welcome to the site, but based on your questions and starting a detail business with the lack of knowledge you have. I would suggest that you start by reading A LOT of the threads on the subjects your interested in.

Detailing is a far cry from washing a car in your driveway. Once you start working on paying customers, things change a lot.

There is a lot of info on this site that will give you a basic understanding of the detail world and start you off on the correct path.

Good Luck
