Stainless Steel Add On's

New Normal
It is after Christmas and now it is time to show off the Christmas present that I got my wife for he car. All she wanted was the license plate trim but as usual when it comes to my wife I went a little over the top just to try and satisfy her.

This is not detail although I did do a Z6 wipedown before the pictures. This is a stainless steel trim thread.

Here is what it looked like before stainless.

Ya, I know. That is one thing that she does not want to change. She likes the ride and does not want the big tires.. Have talked with her many times. With only six thousand miles on it in a year the tires will last a long time before she will allow a change of rims.

You should talk her into replacing just the wheels to the factory chrome ones then. Keep the same tires and ride, but add to the stainlss look. It would make a huge diffence in looks.

Forgot to tell ya, that stainless trim makes a huge difference. Looks really good.

I'm not a fan of the difference on the rear, but that front grill is a nice improvement. That is a smooooooooth looking car even without the chrome, but it gets even better with it. I would hate chrome rims though. Those are such a paint to keep clean...

Very nice work!! I really like the grill, but the rear is a little too blingy for my taste - but if she likes it, that IS what's important!!!

I just noticed the fender trim. uhmmmm..... yeah, I don't think I like those either. If you are going to put chrome rocker panels on there on top of everything else then you really do need chrome wheels or else the whole them is going to be thrown off. I would take the stuff off the tail lights and the fenders and leave the grille.

I saw one today with these rims on it and it looked soooo nice. That car really needs some chrome rims to tie the polished steel theme together. If you are going to put that much trim on the car then it isn't going to look right until the wheels are chrome too. I'm not the biggest fan of chrome either, but I've seen cars that look good with it and this is one of those cars.

I love the billet styled grills ncie job on the chrome.....I also agree its time for a set of chrome or polished rims to finish off the ride.......I'm jealous

I agree completely with everyone's thought about the chrome wheels. Out of my hands at this moment. This is not my car. This is my wife's car that i get to detail and fix up with my money. All of the add on's were pre approved. Wheels are not allowed at this time. I will keep working on her or make more money than I can add to it with my money. Which I do not have much left since I have been out of work for three months and three more months of unemployment looking me strait in the face.

That is not a complaint. Just the facts!

I would probably wait to put the rest of the chrome on until the look could be completed. It's a great looking car and what you are doing to it doesn't bother me at all, but if you are going for a chrome theme without chrome wheels then it is going to look like a civic with an unpainted body kit. I would leave the chrome off till the look could be completed, but like you said... this isn't your car so I guess she can do what she wants. It's still a nice car no matter what wheels are on it. :)

I'm not a fan of the taillight thing either, But it's your wifes car and as long as she likes it that's what counts, but I do realy like the grill and the fender trim. I am sure that in time you will be able to talk the good Dr. into a new set of rims, nothing says that they oversized just something that will compliment the rest of the look even if they are the same size rim.

Happy Holidays
