How can I remove this from my wife's Honda Civic? It looks like someone spill Soda or a sugary drink...

Looks like it ate away at the clear which I'm afraid is most likely not a good sign...

Sorry, and not just from the soda pop, which contains phospurfic acids, a lot of sugar, etc and all will eat a clearcoat away, however, the picture shows a bigger damage to the "clearcoat" and it is "gone, gone, gone".

See the "cloudy" part, away from the "darker", in the center of the photo?

That is clear that is going away.

The "dull" darker part is the base coat, with no "clearcoat" over it.

Get a good bodyshop to refinish the entire panel to a solid break line, no blending, as that is a method that ends up costing more in the future.

Which means, to be done correctly, requires the entire top panel to be refinished down to a solid break line or body line.

Reminds me of WBW cleaning chrome bumpers with coke (Coca‑Cola)

Two reasons parents don't allow their children to drink too much 'soda pop'; sugar high and phosphoric acids, both of which will also ruin your teeth

They won't do a thing.

American Honda answers only to the HQ in Japan, they won't open the door without Japan telling them exactly how, when and what for.

They cut down on the amount of clear and in almost all photo's of clear failure, are due to lack of film build when they are painted at their assembly plants.

This sort of "actions" by Honda have been going on since the late 80's, and they don't care, as by cutting down on the amount of clear materials, they save some money on each car.

At that point they play the "actutary" game.

Their warranties, for all things, are written to protect them, not the one who buys their product.

Tried to deal with them on issues for years when I was in California, and in every case, whatever engineer I would talk with, said the same thing--"I can't do anything without Japan saying to do what ever I find which needs to be addressed, sorry."
