Stage 3 water restrictions! Questions????

Well, I found out today that I can't wash my car at home until these are lifted, which could be indefinitly. :aww: Good thing I did my wife's SUV on Saturday!

I just got good at using my PC too.

The city said I can go to the car wash, but can't wash at home. I told them that I use less water at home, but it was like talking to a brick wall (small town government). :hairpull

Will using the car wash soap stip my wax? Should I just take my bucket and mit and use the light pressure soft water rinse to do my washing (beat them at their own game)?

I guess it's time to order more PB Spray and Wipe. Is S&W good enough to put a polish on after. Is there any other QD that cleans good enough to use as a wash if the car isn't that dirty?

Thanks for the help,

Brian

They are probably right that the car wash uses less water than you do...they typicallly recycle the water. You need QEW or ONRWS.

I'm going to order some ONRWS. I need some nice, new microfiber anyway. I wouldn't think the city would say anything about using only 2 gallons to wash the car.

Is this stuff just like a water wash... I mean can I use a polish and wax after this, or do I need a real water wash?

Thanks for all the help, :thx

I wouldn't say these products are exactly like a regular car wash soap. The washing process is a little different. However, you can definitely polish or wax after washing with one of these products.

The best part is you can wash in your garage so the city never knows. I wash in my garage during the winter, because it's too cold outside to do it.

Worst case, if they tell you that you can’t even fill your bucket with local tap water, you could buy bottled DI water at the supermarket. Two gallons might still be cheaper that the coin-op.

PC.

For a QD that has some cleaning ability, check out 146 from FK1.

If I was in your shoes and the city was being a real d!@k about doing it at home, I'd get take a couple of gallons of water and a bucket with me and park at the local DIY car wash and use QEW or ONRW. I'm still using up the last of my supply of QEW so I haven't tried ONRW yet, but it works great even as a full replacement for a wash 99.9% of the time, as long as you didn't get completely plastered with mud and gravel.

My coin wash trips consist of a bucket of suds from home and their rinse water/softened water cycle only. I avoid their harsh soaps.
