Ssr1

Is SSR1 the same as Mothers Pre-wax cleaner? Just wondering if it (Mothers) has the same cleaning and polishing properties. I have some very fine swirls and scratches and I'm looking for a very mild abrasive. Will mothers pre-wax cleaner cut it or should I add an extra polishing step after the pre-wax cleaner and before the glaze?

I dont think that Mothers PrewWax cleaner is anything more than a chemical cleaner. Its part of the Mothers 3step which includes a Sealer/Glaze step to take care of swirls but it doesnt do a great job.

Maybe someone else can say for certain but SSR1 is an awesome polish especially when applied via PC it can do allot on its own.

i dont think that the mothers would do much....have never tried it but the ssr line up is awesome

i would think the ssr has more power but i could be wrong.

The SSRs are a diminishing abrasive. I believe that the mother's pre-wax cleaner is just that, a cleaner.

The Mother's 3 step process doesn't work very well for covering swirls. (I've tried it ;) ) The pre-wax cleaner is just designed to prep the surface so the next step, that it all. Supposedly the prew-wax and the sealer/glaze in the Mother's kit covers "Fine" swirls, but they would have to be very very fine. Go with SSR1.

SSR1 is a very light abrasive polish. It will remove light swirls/marring. It will have more bite than the Mother's pre-wax cleaner. I personally like to use SSR1 as a final polishe before my LSP.
