COME AT ME BRO
I am not really sure where to post this, so it'll go here. I have recently decided to put all of my music in a digital format. This is no easy task as I have a couple of thousand to do. In doing so, I decided to sell all my cd's at cd shops and ran into the problem of having some titles that they would have bought had they not been so scratched up. So I came home last night and decided to give something a whirl. I got a test cd (a pretty scratched up one) and went out to the shop. Put the Sonus green polish pad on the PC, grabbed a clean MF, and got a little bit of SSR1. Held the cd with my left hand (this was a lot harder than it sounds...I put my index finger through the hole ever so slightly and used my thumb and other fingers to apply slight pressure to the opposite sides of the disc. This also allowed me to "roll" the disc to get all of the surface.) and the PC with my right. On a setting between 1 & 2, I polished the cd. I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out. It took me two "passes" with SSR1 to get the cd to near new quality (there's still a few scratches here and there, but no more than anything else the owner bought). I am going to go over a few more and take them back to the shop and see what the owner says. Kudos to SSR1 for doing another spectacular job on an "around the house" project. :bigups
On the pics, I tried to duplicate the same angles to show the amt. of scratches vs. the amt. removed. I also don't see why this would not work for scratched DVD's as well.
