Like Scottwax does it, you must wait for the nicer of the two :D.

First up - 1998 Volvo V70

I do this car every 4-5 months and it gets BEAT ON. This is Liz's mothers car and her father washes it with a shammy and .25 oz's of Armor All Car Wash Soap. Yes, I've tried a million times to talk sense into him, but it never works. He loves to get the most out of everything while in the end he will get the least out of his paint. Therefore, I know not to spend forever on it. I just try to 'keep up' on the swirling and soiling. The front end needs a repaint bad, but it will probably never get it. Overall, I think it came out nice for what it is.

280Z next!

I did this 280z for a client I have done in the past. He had me clean up a 15 year old Audi for him (see other C&B post, as it deserved its own). This car was a cherry in comparo. I think it's a late 70's car with a custom paint job and body kit. It's pushing 600-610 whp he said. I'm not sure exactly what he has done, but he owns the performance shop I did it at and they do some SERIOUS stuff. Everything is top notch.

The paint was in pretty nice shape but had some sanding trails here and there from the repaint. The roof had stuffed dragged all over it and I was told not to worry too much about fixing it as it would be painted soon. Anyways, exterior + engine only...

-S+W to clean

-AIO to polish

-Adam's VRT to dress

I dedicate all my details this weekend to my grandfather, who passed away suddenly on Thursday...Rest in Peace.

As always, great job Sean! The Audi and 280ZX both look fantastic! I know Adam was very pleased with the results...it's a shame the weather was so bad - otherwise I'm sure he would have taken you for a ride. As a regular passenger, I can tell you, it's an experience like none other.

The Audi was the big job here and the transformation is truly incredible. From the day the car was purchased, he'd been fixing some odds and ends for winter driving. Once the mechanicals were worked out, we were hopeful you'd be available for a detail. I always said it looked like someone washed it with a brillo pad!

I have a few things to take car of on the RX-7 this summer (including a front bumper repaint) and once they are sorted I hope you can give hr a few hours work hehe

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather...

Jon

Sean, I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather especially since it was so sudden :(

How did the EFHI and DP work for you? Both require agitation (just in case you did a hose on hose off method). I'd just use the DP for wheels (in case you used it on tires or wells).

What's up with the crap on top of that 928?! :shocked I'm hoping that it's just a parts car and no customer owns that! Maybe you can get your hands on that to detail. That red would look killer! I just love them. I drove a 1986 928S and it was AWESOME!

Nice work on both cars :xyxthumbs

nice detail. i love that Z.

sorry to hear about your grandfather passing away. i hope you and your family are okay.

Thanks for the condolences. We are still a bit shocked. He was healthier than men half his age. He worked like crazy and I know he'd want me to keep doing what I'm doing, so I am :).

The Porsche looked like a project to me. It looked like it had some body work done on it and is waiting for some more attention.

Seth: I liked the EFHI a lot. I think its a touch stronger than Meg's APC. I used it on the vinyl/leather in 10:1 dilution with great results. It felt as though the Meg's left a light residue on the surface (when I applied the dressing over it, it grabbed the towel more...more friction) whereas the EFHI did not. I used it full strength on the tires and it easily chewed through all of the grime. I'll be ordering some once I run out of Meguiar's.

I didn't get to play too much with the DP Gel. The Audi and Datsun didn't need the gel and the Volvo rims were too far gone to help. I will be giving it another shot soon, but damn...it's so damn thick it barely comes out of the sprayer :). My damn finger was getting tired.

Thanks for the kind words everyone :).

This is why I'm making a 200mile round trip to get my car detailing!! Great work Sean.

On a side note, sorry to hear about your Grandfather.

Glad you liked the products Sean!

You can cut the EFHI 1:1 and still get awesome results on tires. Cut it 3:1 and you have a great wheel cleaner like A2Z.

Yeah, the DP gel is rather goopy. That cheapo spray bottle I gave you ain't gonna cut it! I use it in a ZEP spray bottle. Since it is in gel form, there is no runoff, hence less wasted product. It is rather concentrated so a little goes a long way. Great for wheels up to moderately dirty with no baked on dust. Remember, you can use it on covertible tops too.
