Sprayway glass cleaner

I searched, but couldn't find any specific threads on it, so I thought I'd start one. The wife was at Sam's Club and brought home a 3-pack of Sprayway. I'd never tried it before so I gave it a whirl on my rear window (which has to be possessed by a smear demon, along with his friends Haze and Film).

I tried to keep things simple by taking a clean M/F and spraying the cleaner on the towel instead of the glass. After a few swipes, I could see the glass becoming markedly cleaner, but then the friction levels between the towel and the glass rose. I flipped the towel to the dry side and began wiping again. At first there were the same high levels of friction and I began thinking "Great, it's gonna clean one layer of gunk off, only to leave another." Then suddenly, the towel "broke free" and was sliding smoothly over the glass. I repeated the process on the other half of the window (Cavalier remember, it's easier to do one side at a time...at least it is for my exceptionally proportioned back-side). The results were the same, spray towel, wipe, heavy drag...switch to dry side, heavy drag, sudden 'break free,' easy buffing. Then I gave the whole window a final wiping with the dry side and poured myself out of the backseat to examine the work. I was surprised, the glass was absolutely spotless, not a streak or smear to be seen. and other than having to be a contortionist to get to my back window, it was actually easy gettng the glass so clear.

PS: I even tried it on my work car's windshield, which gets nasty beyond belief...It worked just as well there, leaving the glass crystal clear. A definate keeper/go to product.

Sprayway is my go to glass cleaner. I like it much better than IG (can or bottle), ClearVue, a damp MF, or Windex. I'm getting some Megs NXT glass cleaner today (for free :woot: ) So, I should know if that's any good pretty soon. I usually spray the Sprayway directly on the window, but it gets all over the place when I do that. In fact, I have yet to find a glass cleaner that doesn't go all over the place when you spray it on the window. If you're having trouble cleaning some of your glass try on of these tools. Your back will thank you for it.

I can't stand the smell of it lol, but it does work damn well. They could use a little better bottling (the label looks as old as the company!) but it works well on many surfaces, even chrome. The problem I have with is that it does streak sometimes and it is not something you would use in the summer (dries too quickly).

I use Eagle 1 20/20, but will get the NXT cleaner when it runs out.

Sprayway is a butt-kickin' product. If you buy it right, you can still pay $2.99 per can. That company also makes a great stainless steel "cleaner". A most unique product around the kitchen. I can earn some serious brownie points when I break that stuff out!

Love Sprayway glass cleaner, just bought a case of it last week...should keep me well-stocked for quite a long time. :spot

A very good glass cleaner indeed! :bigups However, the foam is a little bit difficult to control, and tends to get on everything. Not a big deal, just a little annoying.

That's why I spray the towel ;)

It's great stuff!! I used to work for a company that was a General Contractor. One of my projects was a new building for a glass company. When we had their open house, the owner gave me 2 cases of the stuff!! :2thumbs: That was almost 4 years ago, and I have just recently ran out!! Funny thing is, the company I now work for is a distributor for Sprayway, so I can buy it cheap!!!

The company I work for caters to the woodworking and cabinet industry, but I have found several items that I use on my car, like Porter Cable 7424, 3M Compounds, and sprayway. Even better, our parent company is Wurth!!! :woohoo:
