Spiral scratches after polishing windshield?

I recently polished my windshield with a griots 6" DA polisher, glass polishing pads, and glass polish. Unfortunately I now have spiral etchings all over my windshield. I used a 2-3 setting with lots of polish.



I am going to try again with a spray bottle.



Any ideas to hopefully alleviate the issue? How long should it take?

What specific polishing pads and polish were you using?

...I used griots glass polish and their own glass polishing pads.

I got the same thing while using UC with orange pad on the water etching on my side windows. It wasn't bad scratches and they are very minimal, but it's much better than the water etching for sure.

I always stress people to do a test spot on windshields in the lower right corner and inspect meticulously with many lighting sources.

Wish my hindsight was 20/20. Thanks for all the replies. I am going to take a lot of time tomorrow to try it again.
