SpeedFreak Detailed: F10 M5 Azurite Black Opti Coated

Per usual, late in getting these uploaded. This client was referred to me off of M5 board.com. He special ordered this F10 M5 beast in BMW Individual colored "Azurite Black" and picked it up around Thanksgiving. I must say the color is stunning, and is actually a dark metallic blue color very similar to Monaco Blue.

He was interested in having Opti Coat applied to all exterior surfaces including the wheels and calipers. Excellent move! Much better to start out on the right foot, rather than come back and have to fix things down the road. The car had some light swirling and marring, so we decided on a single stage correction prior to the coating. That metallic flake straight POPS with a little bit of polishing.

Products used:

  • Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner
  • Meguiar's APC
  • Diamondite Bug Eraser
  • Chemical Guys Citrus Wash
  • NanoSkin autoscrub
  • Nanoskin Glide lubricant
  • Menzerna SF4500 (85rd) on LC CCS Black pad via FLEX 3401
  • Optimum Opti Coat
  • Adam's super VRT tire dressing
  • Optimum metal polish

Tried to get some outside shots but it was near dark. I added in some light the best I could, but they're sort of grainy.

Thanks for looking!

Wow 85RD handled light swirls on this? Pretty soft clear?

Looks incredibly glossy. Have a few coming in for this same process. Such a well executed car.

Great job!

VEEEEERY fine swirls and marring, nothing too significant. I've found with 85rd/black pad though on the FLEX, that high speed and very slow arm movement will actually yield surprising corrective abilities, even on hard clear like BMW.
