SpeedFreak Detailed: 4 day Black 996TT MESS

I was called in by Designo Motoring to do a full correction on a 9k mile '04 Black 996TT Cab this past week. I was told the car was getting ready to be sold, and they were after top dollar. When I arrived, I found one of the biggest MESSES I've ever seen. It was evident immediately that the car had been brutalized by some idiot with a rotary buffer. Thanks Porsche of Rockville......get your "detail guy" some training.:rolleyes Buffer trails, holograms, and buffer installed swirls covered the car throughout. It literally looked like someone had grabbed a handful of steel wool, and washed the car with it. The rear spoiler had been repainted, and was absolutely FULL of sanding marks that were never finished down. Surprisingly, the paint on the spoiler was hard as ROCK, not the norm for the usually soft Porsche paint. It required multiple passes with a wool pad and would not level completely. Since the shop didn't want to spend the extra money on sanding, this would have to do. I spent the majority of the afternoon and well into the night Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and about 6 hours on Saturday to restore the finish. Most of the before and during shots were taken with my iPhone, so I apologize about the quality of some of the photos.

Thanks Thomas! These damn black Porsches are just too easy to muck up!!! I tried to sell the guy Opti Coat, but he is selling the car so he was not interested.

Nice save!!!!! That was hammered. Give the detail guy a kick in the junk for me, would you. Finished pics look fantastic.

6 polishing passes!?!??!?!? holy epic correction batman. I've found that porsche spoilers ARE hard too-very strange.

PS, your shop is sick.
