SpeedFreak Detailed: '08 BSM E60 M5 - What a mess!

This car had it all. Acid rain etchings, swirl marks, RIDS, overspray, sanding marks, pigtails you name it. For a car that is barely 4 years old, it was pretty bad. The car was just bought by David, owner of Pro Shield out of Sterling, Va who is a personal friend of mine. The correction was done at Designo Motoring's shop, also in Sterling. I set aside the entire weekend for this job, and it took up every minute of it.

The hood had been resprayed and what a pathetic job. :nono: It was sprayed while on the car, tape lines were clearly visible, they shot the clear OVER top of the windshield wiper fluid jets, and the rear portion was void all together of clear. I didn't spend too much time here as he's going to have it repainted before he wraps it in Venture Shield. Also, the rocker panels, and sides of the rear bumper cover were rough to the touch, and full of overspray. Unfortunately my camera was acting up, so I didn't get many before shots. Because of the multitude of non factory paint, a good deal of experimenting with different pad/polish combos was necessary.

As long as paint is in good shape, polished level, it can be wrapped. Now, I will point out that he has decided to have the front bumper cover and hood resprayed so that will take care of the imperfections.

Give me a call or shoot me an email and lets talk.

Thanks Thomas! I'm using an entry level DSLR, Nikon D3100 to be specific.

I know I've said it before, but I am in love with the PO85RD. When you think the paint is finished out fully, use this stuff and it will knock your socks off. I feel this is THE product responsible for the glass like gloss in all my recent details.

Very nice job Brian. The afters are amazing. I haver to agree on the 85RD. I haven't used it in a long time until this week. I was amazed at what a difference it made in the amount of gloss.

Really cool man! I don't have Menz 85 but I do use the cheaper FFII when it needs some extra love, may have to get 85 in the future - that sure did a number on that black!
