The owner of this car contacted me because he is selling it and wanted to get it cleaned up and ready to show. We had discussed doing a basic wash/wax detail, but upon seeing the car under the halogens I advised him it was in desperate need of reconditioning. The entire car was covered in heavy swirls, RIDS, and various other etchings and stains that only machine correction would remove. He didn't want to spend a ton of money, so we came up with a 2 step plan that was within his budget. The car is by no means perfect, but shows a large improvement.
I didn't get a ton of "during" shots as the paint was in pretty bad shape and I was pressed for time, although I tried to capture a few 50/50s. The paint actually finished down very nicely, and the car is now in much better shape for potential buyers to view.
Products used:
The car as it arrived
After Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner
After wash and clay, heavy swirling is present throughout
Etching from some sort of stain in driver's side quarter panel
50/50 after one pass with M105/orange pad, still room for improvement
50/50 rear quarter panel
50/50 driver's side hood
Hood fully corrected
Afters
heavy scratching under door handle polished out
Thanks for looking!
