Speed Shine from Griots

I went to the Griots seminar in Chicago on the 5th and they handed out free samples of this. What is everybodies take on this stuff, would it be a good clay lube. There were lots of people, got me wondering how many autopians were there also.

It's a product comparable to Meg's #34. Nice stuff. Certainly functions well as a lube for claying.

don't take this the wrong way, but.........

the reason they gave YOU a sample is so YOU can decide if you like the product

me I like it but as with most of there products

I think you get more bang for the buck with different stuff

It should do fine as a clay lube. As a QD, there are better ones out there.

If they gave you a sample in a small bottle, it might be a good item to include in one's "bird-bomb elimination kit."

It's OK. I wouldn't buy it, but I would take a free sample. I like my PoorBoys Spray & Gloss or Four Star UPP spray much better. Polycharged UPP spray is awesome.

Heh heh, guess you and I had to disagree about *something*, sometime :D

IMO #34 is a very "clean" QD; it doesn't leave much of anything behind. SpeedShine OTOH leaves pretty much carnauba-based stuff behind. I'd say it's more like a thick/viscous version of the discontinued EF Clear Pearl. I find it a bit wax-rich for a clay lube...it has good lubricity but seems to compromise the cut of the clay a bit.

I *do* really like SpeedShine though, been using it since the days when Richard called it "Fast Shine". I first noticed how much stuff it leaves behind when I used it for a bird-bomb- during the subsequent wash, the spots I'd treated with SpeedShine were *really* beading nicely, even after the first pass of the wash. Be sure to *REALLY* wash out your WW if you use SpeedShine when you dry, it seems to compromise the absorbency unless you thoroughly launder it out of the WW, and that's not always so easy.

I think SpeedShine was really on the leading edge of quality quick detailers. Usually what I grab for a carnauba finsih.

Me too. There has been a lot of positive posting on Speed Shine. I have some and I like it.
