Speaking/selling/promoting

I was the guest speaker over the weekend at a local car club, they had about 75 people attend. I talked about 45 minutes on car care. I brought some of my products, and sold about $400 worth of supplies. I sold out of micro fiber towels. if you are still thinking about selling supplies, go for it. I also booked 3 details while I was there. One owner showed me his black pace car loaded with swirl marks that the dealer put there for him free of charge.

I will do these events as much as possible, they are great fun, plus I get to sell and promote. Its a great thing. Gary :bounce

Great job Gary. I have probably asked you this before, but how do you go about getting the attention of these groups? For example, do you just call or email them? If so what do you say? Sorry if these questions sound stupid, but promoting in this manner is something I need to work on.

Thanks, Brad

Not sure how your area works, but around here we have local car papers for gear heads that publish all local clubs, even the newspapers post them from time to time. I just call the clubs and ask if I can be a guest speaker. since I'm already teaching and making the rounds, many clubs know about what I do. The ones that don't I refer to my web site and they read about my business and how I focus on consumer education. Once you do a couple of them, it kind of snowballs. Hope that helps. gary
