Spay and Shine for tires...

I detailed cars part-time in college for a local detail shop.

We used a product that we referred to as spray and shine.... Does anyone know who makes that commercial product? It was blue and came in 30 or 55 gallon drum.

Thanks

I just looked in my Pro Car Beauty products catalog and found a product available in spray bottle or up to 55 Gal. called "Prime Shine" dressing. Is this maybe what you were thinking of. It is blue in color and is for tires and rubber seals and trim.

The tire dressing we use at our shop is from Adams Polishes called "VRT" and it is the best I have used. We do paint and body work here too and it works well in that situation as it is silicone free!

Hope this helps. Might have been something from Car Brite but I dont have one of their catalogs, sorry.

I went to their site and looked at their products..... the color looks familiar but the the packaging did not. Though the packaging I am sure has changed over the years (it was 12 yrs ago). So that maybe it.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate the effort.

Dang, for a moment there, by your headline, I thought you were detailing a female dog.

Typically those products are a solvent/ silicone based. The company I worked for fromulated a product for a Carbrite that was 15% DMF 1000CS and low aromatic mineral spirits with a fragrance added. I still have some samples of the product to make my own and will use it to dress my wheel wells and occassionally some tires. It's basically a spray on and walk away product and actually lasts a decent time.

I think I'm the only active member of Autopia who spayed a dog today. :grinno: But they don't look too shiny when I finish.
