South Jersey Detailing Association

I am currently in the process of contacting local detailing business owners here in Southern NJ. We need to find people who are willing to put in some time. At the current time I am looking for a core group of three to five people to start out with. I guess you could say we are in the groundwork stage. Once the core group becomes dedicated and at ease with the organization, there is a much better chance of those members recruiting more detailers.



Basically, we need people who are willing to do their part in order to give the association a sense of shape and direction. We need hard working people who are willing to share their ideas freely for the benefit of all. It is a grassroots effort that requires taking one step at a time.

thats kind of a vague post. How does anyone who joins this, benefit? Whats your goal for this organization.

Here are my thoughts in regard to the goals of this association.



1- Create a mission statement that clearly defines why the association exists in the first place. We need to identify a focused view of its fundatmental purpose.



2- A concise description of the values and goals of the association needs to be developed. That will help to give the association a sense of meaning and direction.



3- Define in real terms who, what, where, when and how the association serves.



4- Realize from the start that the association is not just about member benefits or what detailers want from the association.



5- Establish a consumer awareness campaign that is completely focused on meeting the needs of the customer. A campaign that goes hand in hand with the establishment of constant quality improvement standards.



These are just a few of the goals I have in mind. I am sure that other members will have their input as to the goals of the association.

I received an email and just wanted to re-state publicly that the association is not about member benefits. It is about hard working people who are willing to share their ideas freely for the benefit of all involved so that detailers can meet and exceed the needs of the customer.
