sound deadening queston...

I just peeked into this thread, and I am not sure any of you look at this site, but they did a C5 project with very interesting results.

Hey thanks Gary, that's pretty interesting reading.

I remember going to B-Quiet's website once, but at the time I couldn't figure out the difference between the solid dampers (Dynamat, Brown Bread) and the composite stuff (L-Comp). Sounds like you should get both for max sound deadening...

Man all I need now is a few days in the summer and a TON of motivation to rip my interior out. :D

Any results to report?

I have an '03 Civic EX and want to reduce the tire and road noise. Would love to know more specifics on Brown Bread/Dynamat vs. composit foams. Also, am hoping to find how to get decent results without dismantling the interior.

Any learnings to post?

I'm tired of trying to make a race car out of a Honda Civic. Yeah I could do it...but I don't have the money or time for it. And truthfully, I'd rather just buy a sporty BMW than fix up my Civic now, guess I'm growing out of rice:cool:

Is that stuff better than dynamat extreme?

Wish some other import drivers would realize this. Lol, next little civic with a fart can and a wing that revs up next to me (in my SLOW 6cyl jeep w/big tires). I'm just going to ramp the hood.

I recently used herculiner (paint on) on the bottom of the mustang to undercoat the bottom of the floorpaint (which were only primed, no paint). An added benefit was the noticable decrease in road noise. It was only $30 for a quart of this stuff, which was enough for all of the floorpan.
