Okay, so I finally bought a PC7336 tonight and am so excited. I've had Sonus SFX-2 and SFX-3 on the shelf in anticipation. I've done a fender, door, hood and just started on the front bumper. The product has just started dusting really bad. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and am in the middle of this. (It's on my Integra by the way). Someone please give me advice on what to do so it will stop dusting so bad.

.....just did a quick search (I know, it should have been my first step). I think maybe I'm using too much polish from what I found searching. I've been applying the amount of polish that I would if I was waxing which may be too much. If somebody could give a quick post and confirm that (if they think that's the problem) I'd really appreciate. Thanks.

Have you tried switching to a new (clean) pad, or cleaning the one you have been using? If it has become caked with dried polish that might be where the dusting is coming from. You might also be working the polish a little too long, but if it just started dusting, I'd check/clean the pad.

I haven't used the SFX polishes, but I remember reading that you should prime the pad before using it.

i wouldn't use anything made by sonus!!! their trim and motor kote product put big white spots all over my engine...i will stick with finish kare, griots garage and lexol's vinylx..

I ended up washing out the pad and starting clean. Used a lot less polish on the rest of the car and never ran into the problem again. As for not using Sonus Products, I couldn't be happier with the results. The SFX-2 eliminated all of my swirl marks and I was even using the cheapo pad that came with my PC. SFX-3 really made the paint pop. Finished with 21 and the paint has overall never looked better. I really liked the SFX-2 once I figured out the problem with dusting. It was extremely easy to use too. This was my first time using the PC and it all came out looking incredible.

Dusting is pretty normal with the SFX line. I have the version 2.0 of SFX-1 and SFX-2 and after a polishing session I'm sometimes better off if I just rewash.
