Sonax R2000 Wheel Cleaner

Just bought myself a couple of bottles of this last week from my local dealer and used it on my wheels yesterday. I've used it in the past and really liked it.

I got down to business on my wheels and noticed that Sonax have obviously reformulated it. Previously it was a green gel and smelt quite nice... now it is much thinner in consistency and is purple in colour and has a more of a chemical smell to it.

It certainly works just as well as the old stuff - if not slightly better IMO. One very noticable thing was that the trigger spray bottle performed much much better than previously, producing a nice wide, even, powerfull, spray of product... but I suspect that this could be due to the product now being much thinner in consistency than before.

I not sure if you guys in the USA still get this stuff, but has another else noticed this reformulation?

I picked up a couple of bottles the other week and it was still the green thick one. I actually transfer it to a different trigger bottle and dilute it half and half with water - I find it's just as effective but easier to spray. Will look out for the new formulation though, and will be a bonus that the trigger bottle it comes it will actually work!

I assume it's still mild on wheels, they haven't introduced acid/alkaline into the reformulated version?

I wasn't overly impressed with the Sonax. It did a decent job, but I'll stick wtih A2Z.

I find it's only good on well maintained (i,e, polished/waxed/sealed) wheels. It's effective enough at getting the grime off without stripping the protection as well. If I come across wheels that are really grubby I always revert to AG Clean Wheels.

A wheel cleaner from SONAX is available in USA and Canada. It is their Xtreme rimcleaner Full Effect. The best stuff they ever created. Won awards from three different German magazines as beeing the best "acid free" rim cleaner of those tested.

Imported in Canada and USA by Newtown Sales and sold online by ppsonline.net.

Local retail base will increase over the next year.

Have a great week.
