Sometimes Less is More!

Just One More Coat
Over the weekend I washed my jet black BMW...I had waxed it with a Brazilian paste wax last weekend...well over this last week I could see that nasty hazing coming back...I wiped if off and it came back the next day.

So you understand two weekends ago, I did a full detail of the outside

Clay, SWR with the rotary, polish rotary, glaze and seal...The car looked great so the next weekend I paste waxed...look great until it got hot from the sun and bang mr smokey haze was back.

So yesterday I washed the car...and then used my PC and very carefully when over the car with P-w-C and that was it...car looked great no hazing:D

Sometime I get the feeling that less is more with this jet black car!

Wasn't this problem pretty much just on the hood area when you first started having it?
Is it still just the hood area?
It seems to definitely be heat related and possibly carnauba wax related.
The weather is not the same in my area as in yours, but I have had lots of black cars and used lots of carnauba waxes and never had a problem.
Could it have anything to do with applicators or the towels used for removal?
Maybe the wax hasn't dried or set up when you remove it.
I don't know that letting it dry makes much difference since the S100 Carnauba I use is a wipe on, wipe off product and it doesn't haze for me either.

Charles

It was just the hood and it is something to do with the heat and the paste wax...two different waxes and the same results.

This time however it was also on other parts of the car...mainly just the top where the heat is more concentrated....

The sealants do not haze at all...

So there's your answer.
Skip the wax and stick to the sealants. :D
Seriously, some of the sealants do have a very good look on black cars.
Meg's NXT 2.0 is one example. It isn't very expensive to try and you could use it on customers cars if you didn't like the look or if it hazed.

I knew that was the answer but I wanted to try some paste wax again...that I had not used in some time...maybe just a glutton for punishment :D:D

I'm going to get some WG sealant its one that I have liked as a finish...with no topper.

Dave- Pick up a bottle of Ultracoat Wax at P&S. I've had great results on black and other dark colored cars with it. For a sealant it leaves a pretty reflective finish IMO, but not too reflective like some of us don't like :)
