Some races from a cruise over the weekend...

not bad lol at the ending of the second video......u did not sound happy :-)

Yeah, my clutch is stock and asking to go and damn GM's (primarily Vette's) have the clutch issue where once it gets hot it sticks....dumb :wall

Looks like that 350 left a little early on ya. Looked to me like you might have been pulling on him a bit before you let off. That Z28 has to be pretty sick. Ya never know with those LS motor cars. My LT1 is stoneage now.

your vette sounds hot, and yeah i could tell when you shifter either you were blowing the tires off or the clutch is hating life.

Thanks guys! The Z28 has been fully built and actually will be receiving a HUGE shot of pray soon....I wont even come close then. And yes the 350Z got a small jump but I have to hand it to him, that thing rolls out! I need more power now....lol

Nice car, but take it to the track next time.

I have been to the track with the car but the problem being that the tires and clutch dont like the dig runs and out here in St. Louis there is a huge car community where people go to remote locations and race where there is little to no traffic.

Sweet vids. Wish I had sound on my work computer.

Not to preach and any other day I wouldn't say anything but... I agree with the track comment. On this very day back in 1991 I lost by best friend to actions like these.

I do agree with you that the track is a wise idea but you know that it never works out that way....people wanna roll race from, for say a 40 punch, you can't do that at the track. You just have to be smart about it if you take it to the street.

Yeah, sorry but you guys aren't too smart. Yeah, those videos look pretty remote with all the other cars on the road. It's fine if you guys want to go out on some desolate road with no cars whatsoever to kill yourselves, but don't do it with other drivers on the road. What's the point of that kind of racing anyway?

"Oh man my car is way better than yours dude, it can accelerate better than any other car out there from 50 to 65! I bet it would do good at higher speeds too, but I keep getting slowed down by traffic."

The only race that I showed with other cars was with the 350Z and it was because we were waaaaay back but came up fast....that was on the way home from where we actually did the runs. I dont want to sit here and split hairs with you or anyone else but everyone has their own view on what they consider a "race"...some like the roll races and some like the dig races. There is always going to be street racing and that will never end. It is how you handle yourself and your car that determines the outcome.

True, but many people are not smart enough to safely do these races and there are always other factors which may come into play. The problem is with street racing, the outcome can mean life or death for an innocent victim...who is to say that innocent people should be put in harms danger in the first place for people wanting to have bragging rights. Like others have said, my comments come from personal experience with family members being on both ends of these kinds of situations, my cousin almost lost his life to his stupid actions.

Grimm - I'm sure you see it as much as I do if you ever travel on 31. It always amazes me in the summer how many idiots fly by me doing 95+ on their crotch rocket or car, especially all the teens on the weekends going up to Grand Haven.

Meh...maybe I'm just showing my age...but dude...that was stupid. In all three races there was a car right in front of the camera vehicle. One old lady with an itchy brake pedal foot and you're dead.

Take it to track and as a wise old man once told me...

Dig or die...screw that "from a roll" stuff.

Wow, so my thread went from some races to watch to, basically, me being an idiot for doing that....sorry for posting these.

I understand both sides of this and the potential outcome but when adrenaline is pumping and someone is next to me wanting a try....I can't say no. Its like a crack head being offered crack, there is danger there but they aren't going to pass it up.....ok, bad analogy but you get the point.

So in short, I am not to bright, but can we just watch the vids for what they are?

Sorry about the rant. Just a lot of remembering about my buddy today and I just wanted to say stay safe.

Sure, I get home so I can hear the sound with the videos and realize I forgot my speakers at a friends. lol
