I have those holograms (is that right?) in full sun. Some of the smaller scratches are still there.

Go over it again with a light polish and a polishing pad, and make sure to break it down completely. Those holograms should come out easily.

Realize though, that the polish will remove your AIO/SG, so you'd have to do those steps again.

First off, be excited with your results as they are....looks way better than what you started off with. Try OP again on a white pad and be sure to really work the product. In my experience OP breaks down pretty darn fast, not difficult at all. The etching may need a more aggresive pad or product like Optimum Compound.

Thanks alot guys,

Don't get me wrong, I am stoked with the results. At first I didn't think the SG was doing much of anything...then I removed a piece of tape that was left over from masking. OMG...to see the difference between the two! :woot2:

As far as breaking down the polish enough...when is enough enough? I don't know if I am using too much polish...not breaking it down...or a combination of both.

I was squeezing tons of polish out of my pad when trying to clean it out...I put it in a ziplock and marked what was on it...so all should be well.

Should the polish be completely clear when it is broken down? How long does it normally take to break down OP? (I know it depends on the amount of area one is working on...just looking for a ball park)

Thanks again guys...you are gods!

Yes, the polish should become clear/colorless when it's broken down. The time it takes depends on pressure applied to the pad, speed of the pad, and other things.

EOppie- I have very limited experience with OP (so far ;) ) but it seems like you hardly need any of that stuff. ScottWax has posted that if you use too much it doesn't work as well (too much lubrication, interferes with the cut). I hardly used any and found that I'd still used too much when it came time to clean out my pad (and note that I'm sorta a fanatic about not using too much product).

I can't really imagine somebody working OP too long..it has *such* a long work time. As long as it's not all the way dry you're OK, just don't work it until it's completely dry.

FWIW, I'd find a way to do a final inspection before you move on to the Klasse twins, so you spot stuff like this before that point.

Still, very nice improvement :xyxthumbs
