Well, I was out working on my car (see my other thread: Just not cutting it), and I was having SOME success, but not a lot. I was taking it kinda TOO easy...just letting the pad graze across the paint. I was going to call it a day when I noticed my mom's horribly neglected 97 Chrysler Concorde in the garage. It used to be my grandma's, and the most care it's gotten was the optional wax at the local carwash.
The trunk lid was in perfect light to see everything, so I put on my foam cutting pad and my 1000 grit-grade compound and went to work. I need to spend a little more time on it, but I really did see the scratches and marring melt away! I also wanted to try something, so on the quarter panel, I used my light polish with the cutting pad and again, SUCCESS! Although, I did do a smaller section.
Does anyone else do this? Just use one product and vary the pad?
Anyways, this was a kinda long way to say that I finally had some success with the rotary. I don't have pictures yet but I may get some tomorrow.
