So, I'll take a break for awhile...

jimmybuffit

That'll buff right out!
I've learned at least 40% of what I know from this forum.

Gosh, when I first started, this was my touchstone. My sole reliable source for detailing information. I learned alot. My business has come a long way in the last 5 years. I'm pleased to see that Autopia.org has progressed as well.

So, in bold letters, I Thank You, David!

As I near 2000 posts, I hope I've contributed something along the way. I'lll now step aside and allow some bandwidth for others.

Oh, I'll be lurking... Just not into discussions with 14 yo professionals.

Jim

You've been a great contributor to the community, Jim, and one that I have often looked to for sound advice on my own business and practices. Thank you as well!

No comment on the 14 yo professionals... ;)

did i miss something? i would hope you're not actually going on a sabatical due to arguments w/ the puppies running around here. ;)

that's what the ignore user option is for...

I find it amusing by the amount of people whose livelihood has been affected by someone trying to learn on this forum. Shows a lot of professional integrity.

i think what jimmy means is... he's thanking DavidB for for his time and info he's learned on here, and is taking a break and/or will just lurk the board and not post due to the fact of many younger detailer "professional" know it all's. i could be wrong though...

Wow I can't believe I'm seeing this sort of behavior here.

:(

Autopia has been and should be welcoming to ANYONE with a desire to learn about detailing. Who hasn't been overly ambitious when starting something new? I think for most people, reality does kick in and you either quit while ahead or you humble down and try to learn it right. If this thread is about who I'm guessing it is about, then the guy has been accepting of criticism and seems to have a true desire to learn and I can't wait to see him become successful.

The point of this thread doesn't make much sense to me? It started off with good intentions, but ended criticizing someone. Why? I suggest editing it to avoid further conflict to reflect a more positive opinion.

It's strange how quickly some people are to criticize others or become defensive.

I believe Jim is just saying that he has much better things to do with his time at this time in his life than sit on a computer and post on message boards (as we all do!). His help and opinions have been greatly appreciated and he is giving over the mentoring stick to any other professionals that are willing to take it.

The razz on baseballlover was just that, a poke. Don't take it personally, kid.

Happy Turkey Day!

I also have better things to do than waste time on pointless threads, that's why I refrain from doing so. It's a pretty easy thing to control. Nothing like saying goodbye in such a fashion for everyone to remember you by. :sadwavey: Makes alot of sense to me. :bow

I dont want to get anyone suspended from the forum so anyone that wants to delete their posts should probably do so. I will miss your posts, and i def. have benefited in you being here. Thanks again.

Personally, I think you have been a great addition to Autopia.

You seem to have a true desire to learn about detailing and I like how you are always asking questions and posting pictures of your work.

Don't let threads like these discourage you, man. :xyxthumbs
