Snow or salt Stains?

I need help guys! I have washed my car twice and it continues to look like s*i* . There is a film all around the bottom panels from where the muddy snow kicked up. Did drive it in a couple of sunny days while dirty, which might have baked it on.:confused: I first did a QEW that did nothing, then a wash with the pressure washer and some Gold Class soap.... NOTHING. I am letting it soak in vinegar as I write. If this doesn't do it, can I go at it with A2Z?
 
P.S..... I am trying vinegar cause some parts are still smooth and slick. I think I just need more cleaning power though.
 
Why don't you try a polish or some AIO? Either one should cut right through a film on the paint.



I wouldn't think E.O. A2Z would be good to use on the paint.
 
I would try claying first. If that didn't do the job I would got to a chemical cleaner like Klasse AIO. A tar remover would work to. Stoners Tarminator is easy to use. Clean the area than spray the Tarminator on. Let it sit for a few minutes and wipe away. You will need to rewax the area when done.
 
Hey! It looks like the claying did it! I'm sure I marred it up a bit though cause it felt really gritty when claying. I went through half of a good size bar, with each piece coming out BLACK. Looks like I'll be doing some work on it with the SSR's now. Maybe SSR1 will do since we still got cold weather ahead.

holland_patrick-YES, I should have posted pics/ It was NASTY, almost as if I never washed. Never happened before. Maybe it stuck to the layers of Nattys? Don't know.
 
Skip the clay. You are going to need a very good paint cleaner (start with a very strong non abrasive cleaner, like gliptone's pro buff). I believe that if the clear or paint is stained instead of etched, then the cleaner should do it. If it is showing that the stain is coming out, keep working the cleaner in separate stages until its all out.



If not, then you will have to try some more abrasive cleaners (try to stop short of a rubbing compound) or a clear compound (go down in varying degrees of abrasiveness) to work it out.



Modern road salt will not usually pose a threat to your paint if you do not let it stay on for more than 3-5 days, as a rule of thumb. Just be prepared to wash your car thoroughly during the winter in intervals of once a week minimally.

I think I finally figured it out. A few days ago I rinsed at the coin-op without the spot-free rinse and I had instant water spots by the time I made it home. This is exactly what I did after that snow fell.The water must be on viagra- super hard,:o . Feel like an idiot now so I'll go sit in the corner.
 
I do use the Quick N Easy and PB's Spray N Wipe. I just tried rinsing the crapolla off but made the situation worse.
