Smooth plastic

I have smooth plastic trim on the rear corner of my Explorer and I have not found anything that works all that well.

I use PB-Trim Restore on textured plastic but it is not effective on smooth plastic.
Back to Black don't work. DG dressing is better but still not what I was looking for.
Rather than buy every product on the market I though maybe this forum could help with a few suggestions of what you use for smooth plastic.

It's sometimes tough finding products for use on smooth plastic, most of 'em end up smeary or blotchy.

Is the trim faded requiring some restoration or are you just looking to dress or protect? Way back when, I accidently got a cleaner/wax called Super Glaze from The Wax Shop on some smooth trim. I was pleasantly surprised when it wiped right off clean and left a shiney black finish. I now use KAIO on those applications. It cleans and protects, restoration is minimal, IMO. 845 also leaves a nice long-lasting finish if you want shiney.

Bart,

Check out my quick review on the Pre-wow. Is the trim on my Mazda similar to what you're dealing with? If so, I was really impressed with the appearance of the trim right after PreWOW was applied. I almost didn't even apply the blackwow and when I did, it did not make much of a difference.

I have also had really good results with Opti-Seal on smooth plastic.

Thanks TL I still have some Wax Shop products I think I have some of that glaze.

Dave I have PB-PP so I will give it a try also.

So far 303 has been as good as anything I have tried.
Speaking of 303 I always bought it by the gallon from AG but I don't see it on the AG site anymore.
I have a Ranger pickup with a tonneau cover and I like 303 for the cover.

I know the frustration with that plastic. I also use KAIO with great results. I just recently learned about topping it with 845. Haven't tried it yet, but find many others to concur with the combo.

I've got a Prius with a shiny black spoiler on the back, not painted. It needs to be polished and then protected. It seems to attract scratches from space or something. So I need something ultra fine and gentle to restore the surface. Suggestions?

I'll probably try KAIO for the shine.

Is it a shiny black plastic spoiler?

This stuff is great for a tonneau cover. Mine is 7 years old and looks like a new one. :bigups

Interesting how different people get different results with the same product. Although I really like 303 for a lot of uses I found it a bit substandard on exterior applications. Got just a bit of residue running down the sides after a rain. Since moved to UTTG+ on the tonneau and it's better than anything else I've tried. I'm not much for a glossy look but a damp ONR wipeoff after application subdues that nicely.

Whatever works... TL

Maybe you put it on too heavy I have had NO issues with running or staining cover looks like new after 7 years.

Hard to argue with results that good. :rockon
I have tried other products but they did not last had to redo too often.
