Small wheel well gaps

I regularly detail an Audi for a customer of mine, it's the twin turbo one, had it imported last year. Anyway, it is slammed and the wheel well gaps are very small. Any ideas as to how I can clean. I do what I can, but I think I need a better brush, maybe something that's flexible?

Thanks,

Jamie B.

Can you jack it up? That may get you a little more clearance. You might get a small ramp and drive one tire on it to get the other side to articulate a little. I've never run into that kind of problem though I'm sure others see it more often.

well my car is slammed and i have about a finger gap if that, what i do is once a month jack up the car and remove the wheels and really scrub and clean them good and then with my weekly washes, i try my best to clean them with my brush

You can probably get that Meguiars wheel spoke brush into the gap. There is a long handled brush (Carrand brand, I believe) that I get at Pep Boys that has a thin handle and head. Seems to work pretty well.

I use a a MF wash mitt for all wheel wells. I usually dont put it on my hand, but rather just scrub with it in the palm of my hand. It is just so much easier than using a brush. I use the mitt in conjuntion with APC and my pressure washer to rinse. Some gaps, like the one you described, are barely wide enough for my hand. In that case you do the best you can. A pressure washer and some good APC also helps. If the space is really small, it is not easy to see soiling anyways.

If it's as low as my S8 it'll have to be jacked up. But then I even jack up my wife's A8 so I can clean such areas properly. There's lots of stuff to clean in the front wheelwells of an Audi and it's even hard to clean around the shocks in the rear wells if you don't jack it up. About the only vehicle I *don't* jack up at every wash is the minivan, and I have plenty of room on that one.

ive found that if i lay down on my back, i can reach up vertically into the wheel well with a mitt and wipe everything. This is what I did on a friends integra that has no wheel gap (tucking) and I had zero problems getting even the tops of the wells cleaned.
