Small Scuff on Side Mirror

I have a red 2006 Pontiac Torrent. The side mirrors are painted. I noticed a small scuff mark on the top of my one side mirror. If I run my wet finger over it I can make it blend back into the surrounding area, then when it dries it reappears.

Can somone suggest a product I can use to make it permanately disappear?

I assume it would just be damage to the clear coat? Sorry for no pic.

I suggest Meguiar's ScratchX. It's readily available at auto stores and probably Wal-mart. You may have to try a couple of applications and don't be afraid to apply "with vigor".

*However* if your mirror is the same type of plastic that is on bumpers, this will not work. Better make sure that your mirrors are painted. Otherwise you will only make the scratch worse..

Would that be better then Mother's Scratch Remover? I suppose I would need to wait until the spring to take care of this as it is cold and snowy where I am.

No sure. Mother's makes good stuff too. It's also easy to find locally. Just be sure that the mirror is painted before you do anything. The mirror housing could be solid plastic in a color that matches the paint on your car.
