Slideshow of my first PC swirl removing experience

OK got some pics up from my weekend of hell trying to fix the paint on my newly acquired 2002 Dakota 5.9 R/T . I ask that you start at pic 1 and just click through them all (i commented on most pics too at the bottom).

Here's the process I used:

1. Wash

2. Clay

3. 1Z on Yellow CMA pad with a speed of 4-5

4. NXT on gray CMA pad with a speed of 3.5-4

5. Rinse and Dry

The paint was horrible. I've never seen 2 yr old paint look this bad. This was my first PC experience too so I was kind of nervous but I'm EXTREMELY pleased with the results. It took me 2 days and a total of 13 hours! There are still a few scratches here and there but I can live with them. I can't wait to do my Grand National now. Thats next weekend...I'll keep you posted.

I have not had a chance to have the truck out in the sun to get some after shots to compare to the first 4 pics shown. Maybe ill snap some today.

Here's a quick sample

Nice work on the swirls, im surprised at the condtion of that truck. I expected it be in better condition but the guy down the street has a new black ford f-150 harley davidson and treats it like crap, dont think i ever seen him wash it. I to just got my pc and used it yesterday the first time. My results were not to bad esp since I only used VM. BTW which 1Z polish did you use???

My buddy has an F-150 that looks almost that bad. He thinks he's taking care of it by washing it weekly... at the quarter wash... with the brush. So I can se how it could get that bad that quick on a 2 year lease.

Its pretty obvious its been through the auto-wash PLENTY of times.

The bottle said 1Z paint polish I believe w/ a green cap. I thought 1Z was the name and it was made by Einszett(spl?)

"Einszett" is German for "One-Zee" (or Zed, if you prefer). There's a history of how it got its name on the 1z webpage.
