Single Stage Ford Red

I have a 1990 Ford Mustang that has its original red single stage paint. It is looking pretty oxidized from sitting out in the elements, and I was just wondering what the best way is to approach bringing it back to life? Thanks.

??? Pads and polishes?? not sure what article your looking at it but it said pads and polishes are not the way to go atleast before you spend 2 days removing the oxidization.. Yes it is a long process but think about it 2-3 days of work on the paint and years of nice looking paint...



BTW in the article it tells you every product you need to get the same restoration he did.

No doubt, Mike Phillips did a great job explaining in detail exactly how to restore single stage paint in this article.

SS paint is not too difficult to restore. I actually think it restores better than bc/cc, but I caution that you must have plenty of pads and mf on hand. Here is a Mitsubishi Outlander that I did a few months ago that had ss paint on it.

Single stage red is the most fun thing there is to work on! The first time will be some work, but it will look great. I'd bet it isn't any worse than this:

A Porter Cable and a multi-step polish will get you there (this car was done by a guy who'd never used a buffer before and the GlossHaus system)
