simple green question

There is no cure!
ok i know many people say not to use simple green on uncoated rims. i have white rims. stock mini cooper rims, and im pretty sure it has a clear because when i clean it, it seems to have a gloss to it. anyways.

my question was basically if it was ok to use it on tires regularly, like every week or two. i bought the gallon size cleaner/degreaser at autozone and i wanna try it out.

but do u think it would be ok to use it on tires weekly? i know a2z cant be used weekly because its too harsh but this is a degreser.

I wouldn't use Simple Green or A2Z full strength weekly. Diluting it would be the best idea for keeping gloss on your wheels long term.

Quick tip. Use your normal car wash soap if your cleaning your wheels weekly. I have a daily driven BMW and this works well for me. I know what you are going through.

Another quick tip. Use Poorboy's Spray and Wipe every other day, and you may never need to use a strong wheel cleaner again.

To sum up my 2 cents, don't use strong wheel cleaners unless you have too. Our wheels are beautiful. Keep them beautiful for the long run by treating them just like your paint.

Hope this helps! :)

I use the ready to use automotive formula of Simple Green on my white lettering about once every two weeks with no problems. In my opinion, as long as you rinse your tires right after your done cleaning them you won't have a problem. Simple Green has a mild PH level of about 9.3-9.5.
