Simple Green Clear Coat

Hey guys

I debadged my tailgate on a Tacoma and used simple green to remove the adhesive.

It's kinda late but is simple green safe to use for applications on the clear coat.

IT was diluted, then I sprayed glass cleaner on it, then soap and water, then polished the area with Z5 and Z1....

Looks good, but still some goo on it if I rub my hand across it.

Should I just leave it alone now? Did the Simple Green do any damage. I've read mixed reports.

Thanks

It shouldn't damage the clearcoat, but I can't imagine that it did a very good job of getting the adhesive off. I would use 3M adhesive remover, and then polish out afterwards.

Or at this point a little clay. I used bug/tar remover on the last one I did because all the clay was used on the paint.

if there is still "goo" first thing I would do is throw away the pads you polished with

then use some WD-40, Goo Gone or adhesive remover to remove the "goo"

the polish & wax/seal

Its fine, but I would just use some bug and tar remover to remove the adhesive then polish it back out.
