Silicon...

I know a lot of silicon products have been looked down upon, because of flammability - but I have found in my trial and error, that silicon inclusive products are actually amazing at suspending dirt, adding slickness, and enhancing glosss...

What are everyone's thoughts, and what are the most silicon laced products available through AG/DC? (Sounds like a band!) ;)

Any thoughts.....? I have used silicon based glazes and car washes, and loved them. What products out there contain a nice silicon base?

You must have some of the ones that you like and that's why you started this thread...I don't use any.

Well the local company I used is switching over everything and using a lot of VOC as an excuse for future preparations, that's all. Thanks though.

It is a company called Ohio Auto Supply (ohioautosupply.com I believe) and they make their own line at the factory...

The products you can view on their PDF file that I love most would be Hawaiin Shine, it's loaded with silicon, and also gloss intensifier, which is a 12-hour curing sealant for darker colors that fills in and slicks over imperfections with a silicon base.

I cannot use products with fillers as a professional. My customers would come looking for me :inspector: after the fillers washed off.

I have tried products that supposedly hid imperfections in the past, and never found anything that worked at all. I'm not saying that these products don't work well for you. Could be excellent products for an enthusiast.

I'm about 81 light years away from being a pro like you bro, honestly all I like to do is create a brilliant shine, and then show it off... to myself, haha :)

Thats how I started out about 11 years ago when I bought my first black car a used Mercedes Benz C280. I tried every polish, wax and sealant under the sun to make the car paint perfect. Did everything by hand, then graduated to the PC, next came the rotary.

Loved that car, and micromanaged its exterior on just about a daily basis.

Sounds like me... haha, it gets to the point the wife gets mad! :)

And the funny part is... it's just a Pontiac Grand Prix - but it's something I have that I'm proud of. Thanks for your help and writing back.
