Side walk signs

How many of you guys use sidewalk signs out in front of your shop. To advertise and if so do you get a pretty good response.
 
make sure you check your local codes about sidewalk signs. I knew someone in NY who got fined $300 because her sign was more than 3' from her shop.
 
Yeah, there is a code about that. I tried that in NC they just take the signs and you will never see them again. If you have something big, they will call the number on the sign and will ask you to remove it. Although I have gotten some business out of signs, it is to costly to replace them every 3 days, especially if you have professional looking signs.
