should i only use AIO and #16

ericsscion

i luv my makita and pc
My paint is in pretty good condition and i just wanted to give it a quick clean. Do you guys think its ok to just use AIO and #16 without polishing the paint?

I wouldnt do it. AIO is a polish cleaner. You should atleast have some sort of sealant. Theres alot of them out there. i.e, KSG,4*UPP,PB EX-P,etc. Then you can apply your #16 on top.

AIO+4*UPP+#16 = wet/glossy look :up

Yes, you can use AIO and #16. A sealant is not mandatory. AIO stands for All-in-One and is a paint cleaner and acrylic protectant. AIO + any carnauba is a common way of protecting paint that also gives a great look.

Meg #16(carnuba) and UPP is a sealant. I always use Nattys or #16 as for my LSP top over UPP. Make your car look more glossy and wet. My 2 cents.

I've used AIO and #16 only on several vehicles and it is a very glossy, wet and durable combination. You can do it in one day too, unlike when you follow AIO with a sealant then need to wait 24 hours before topping.

AIO-->#16 is an outstanding combination. #16 offers a fairly reflective surface and outlasts many "sealants" in my experience (excepting for Z and K).

No swirls or scratches, I say go to town with what you have:up

you won't to add real protection put a sealent on. least likely of using polish also, because it protects your clear coat from getting swirls and clear coat damage. SG is by far my favorite. Upp is good also. You can tell the diference with the SG on even after 4 to 6 months. I highly disagree with thinksnow saying #16 outlast "sealents". I live in NE OHio and it snows like crazy. I put 3 coats of SG on and it's still there after 6 months. Salt & mud just rinses off. #16 would of came off after the first snow storm. Not saying #16 is horrible but it's not ment for long lasting protection just shine. It's a great for shine, but once that comes off your paints defense is gone. If you want your paint to last and have great shine detail after detail you have to protect it.

Scott what about VM and #16?

I just bought two cans because of how it is so talked about.

Scott have you ever topped UPP with #16 or is it pointless to top UPP?

There are two disclaimers in my statement (three if you separate the Z and K).

I am referring to my experience with almost all *other* sealants. SG performs extremely well for me.

I didn't know what you where talking about Z and K. Sorry.

No sweat--I just didn't want to be on record saying that #16 blows both of the durability kings out of the water:D
