i could use some input before i purchase as of now my work truck has been an 85 dodge im now looking at a 01 trooper or something like it, any suggestions on what vehicle would be worth taking a look at in the 8-10k range? i was looking at a few 95-97 range rovers i think thatd work pretty well. i dont use my water tank anymore and my supplies would easily fit in the back of a trooper. my generator is also about the size of a big briefcase so any help is appreciated.

Nothing beats a White van. It is the perfect advertising platform.

Heck, I have one, and I'm not mobile!

Will this be for mixed use. . . business and personal?

How much equipment do you have other than a gen? Rough Sq/Ft of footprint.

What are your professional plans? Are you going to attempt to detail full time for many years. Employees?

Are the streets in your area narrow?

Without knowing those facts I would suggest something like an Astro Van. You can pick up a decent milage, year 2000 or so for about $7k. Save the extra dough, use it to put a partial wrap on it for some exposure, buy more equipment/products or take a vacation! Nothing beats working out of the back of a van. . . except for maybe a $ervice $ide. M2C.

mixed use must have foward facing back seats, yes i would continue working in this new vehicle instead of my current pos. not that narrow streets no employees just me and another guy. i dont really want a minivan i think i could get my extractor generator three two gallon buckets my rotary and pc storage along with all the products needed for the day in the back of a trooper as ive had one before it was totalled last year. i want a vehicle thats actually fun to work on as opposed to using it to see how long it takes to sand through paint.

I too am looking at getting a range rover...in my area, you can find some with only 40K miles on them for about 20K....but then I heard some bad things about their reliability....but the luxury may be worth the little things, but not the big problems....I think it would be good show/DD advertising car....luxury car with no defects showing your work off!

but the white cargo vans do offer more surface area for advertising....I really like supreme shine's setup, but cant afford that!

Ifi was going to do it i would look around for an old fire truck/brush unit

they normaly have the tank built in(not an issue for you) with a pump

many lockable stoage compartments

there might already be a generator on it.

Plus i like fire trucks.
