Have your MSDS sheets out in the open. Make sure all your bottles are labeled. Have the city(if needed) inspect your place. I've never seen a shower or eye wash kit in a detail shop. Worn out electrical cords/water on the floor aren't a good thing.

Did you get cited??

I'm pretty sure fire extinguishers are required. MSDS sheets should be near the supply shelf. IIRC, flammables need to be in a cabinet. (My uncle owns a fabrication shop, so I don't know if these appily to pro detailers)

i don't have a shop, this is for future reference so that I have everything covered

MSDS are something I didnt even think of

I think most of what OSHA would even care about would be covered in a good building inspection from the city. I think probably just about all city's will require an inspection before the business is open.

Once you do get into a shop OSHA will come out and do an inspection for you if you request it. They will not cite you for violations, although if there are any you will need to get them sorted.

OH, so once the shop is ready to run, about a week or so before opening I can have ohsa come out and check it out and tell me whats wrong without being fined anything? that's good to know.
