Shining up clear coated rims

I just bought some rims from a friend. They are Boyd Coddingtons and they are cleared on the hub with a polished lip. My friend isn't exactly a detailing guy, so the rims had lots of swirls in the clear. I took my PC with some OP on an orange LC pad and after 5 mins of work took about 90% of the swirls out. They definitely look better, but the clear isn't quite clear anymore. It has little hazy dots all through it, contributing to a dull look to the rims.

What can I do to remove this hazy look? The rims were on a 04 GTO so they can't be more then 3 years old. I don't want to strip them and have them re-cleared, but I am willing to work a to make them look good. Thanks.

I can get pictures if necessary.

Hope you can see the slight haziness. It is minimal, but I want these babies to shine!!

You probably need a less aggressive pad to remove the micromarring caused by the orange LC pad. Do you have a white pad? You can try using a white pad, with whatever product you used. It should remove the hazing.

It doesn't look like micromarring. There are little spots all through the clear that are opaque. I can try with a white pad, but I think that it's the actual clear that might have a problem.

I see. Do you think you can take some close up pictures? I can see that it's dull and it seems like there's marring, but I can't see the spots you are talking about.

Here you go. You can see the uneveness in the clear in the pictures. Of course my camera just died and I can't find my charger, so these will have to do. They are a touch dirty cause I just drove home in the rain.

The pictures aren't very clear, but try looking at the spots very closely, maybe even with a magnifying glass, and see if you polished through the clear in some places or if the spots are small stone chips or something.

I agree that going at them with a polish pad might help, but first you have to determine if those spots are on top of the clear (some kind of residue), in/under the clear, or spots where the clear is missing (clear coat failure or something).
