Shining in San Diego

Hi ALL!

I've been keeping my cars up using the "Armstrong Method" for years -- oughta know better at 58 years old! I do now!! Got my hands on the Port Cable 7424 last week. What a magnificent machine!! Good bye to the manual method forever. All that hard work was just too discouraging and the results really don't compare. The PC is so easy to use I proceeded with complete confidence to a wonderful result.

The first subject was a 1985 (?) MBZ 190E with oxidized black paint, moderately scratched but in otherwise good shape. First the clay then three stages of polish with the PC orange, green and black pads using a moderately agressive liquid rubbing compound then Einszett Paint Polish followed by Klasse All-in-One. This looked fantastic but the P21S made it even better. Whata shine!! My little girl thinks I'll be prowling the neighborhood randomly polishing cars under cover of darkness. I am not crazy -- really.

The next car is underway now. It's a white 1994 MBZ C220. I was quite surprised to see white coming off the finish suggesting this finish also has no clear coat and probably is single stage. Results are also excellent. While white cars show less drama they tend to accumulate grunge when the owner is not looking. Good bye to all that! This is just too much fun!!
