Shelf life

I had some old Meguiar`s quick wax setting around. It was in their quick detailer bottle since the other one was damaged. It was spraying fine then I clogged up,so I dumped some out onto a pad and noticed small white/yellow chunks in the mixture. I tossed it. Most of my supplies are getting old. I don`t detail or wash my car as often as before.

It`s *VERY* rare for shelf-life to be a problem for me, and I have many products that weren`t new when I bought this house in the late 90s. Often, even products that first appear to have gone bad actually work OK nonetheless. But OK...YMMV etc. etc.

It`s best to store products where they won`t experience huge temp swings. I have some products that are over 10 years old that are fine. Coloration change isn`t an issue. Cottage cheese consistency is an issue.

Gotta keep certain chemicals stored in a temperature controlled area (one that doesn’t get too cold or hot) and shake things up every so often. Some products (like waxes and coatings) get stored in my refrigerator.

Cottage cheese consistency is an issue.

Sometimes ;)

My one jug of KAIO from the early `90s(!) is nasty as can be...clumps, black [crap], you name it...yet it still works 100% fine. That one spent its first decade in a shop that got so hot the overhead door motors would quit!
