Shedding: do any of the autopiacare towels do it?

A towel is a towel, right? Wrong. I bought 2 terry towels at pep-boys. They sheded all over my car when I used them. I went back and bought some microfiber towels. They shedded too, just not as much.

I'm tired of this pep-boys ******** and am convinced that the internet is the only way to buy anything decent. Can anyone vouch for the buffing/cleaning towels sold on autopia care? Which ones have you used, and what do you recommend? Thanks!

The cheap mf towels you can get OTC are usually fine for tire dressings and interior cleaning. For towels that touch paint, I pretty much order them all online. Not enough people are willing to spend $4/towel to make it worthwhile for stores to sell them- most people don't know the difference and wouldn't pay for it.

Pretty much any towel you buy from a good car care place (excel, autogeek, autopia, etc) are going to be good enough for paint work, and you won't have a problem with them.

Definitely buy your MFs on-line. The ones at Car Stores are only good for interior, glass, door jambs, and wheels.

You don't necessarily have to purchase the microfibers from autopiacarcare.com to find a good product. I've purchased detailing products from many different online vendors and have for the most part been very pleased with the quality of service and their products of course. If you're looking for reputable online detailing supply shops some that come to mind are:

danase.com (Bob is a great person to deal with)

autopiacarcare.com

pakshak.com

topoftheline.com

That's just what comes to mind right now. Winner's Circle also has a good deal going on with their microfiber towels priced @ $1.50 ea.

I can't say I have any experience with the Winner's Circle towels but a quick search here should bring up some opinions.
