She Wants A Mini Cooper

I've got a Red/Black 'S' and it's the most fun car I have ever owned. Goes like a scalded cat and handles like it's on rails. Plenty of room for two and their stuff for a long weekend. Kids fit well in the back, adults are cramped.

If all goes well, here it is on the day I picked it up - less than 4 months and over 8,000 miles ago:

Life is too short for boring cars. As a long-term Honda/Acura guy, I edged my wife into getting a 2001 Civic. Now I don't regret it, but it lacks fun factor since Honda has been Americanizing their cars over the last decade.

I keep trying to interest her in a Beetle or Mini, but she doesn't seem too interested in a change yet.

BTW, this week we rented a Mazda Protege. What a great overlooked car! I like it better than the Civic, and am ashamed I didn't even test drive one before we bought that car. (Note I don't mention this car for "passion," just that it was a surprising value)

Now I'm really looking looking forward to checking out the Mazda 6! I especially like the look of the 5 door hatchback version (out in another year). Hmm...
