for those of you who lhave regular customers, how do you set them up...

i was thinking about setting up something like the following: use january as starting month

january - complete works detail inside and out

march - wash and wax

may - wash, light polish, wax

july - wash, clay and wax

september - wash, light polish, wax

november - wash and wax

january - works detail over again!

obviously if I can get them as weekly wash customer at my rates, then so be it, but without having them for a weekly wash, how does that sound? Maybe offer it at a discounted rate if they pay $$$ up front? anyone have any experience with this type fo sales.....pros/cons?

thanks

eric

I have a few customers who I do weekly washes for (and then every month or so, do a wax as well).

As for paying up front, some people get a little worried about doing this. About 6 years ago, before I started detailing, my dad paid $1000 up front to a guy for detailing. After two details, the guy skipped town :( .

Certainly can be hard to get people to pay up front. One of the things that I don't like about doing it is I never save the money. I had three people last you pay for a year. It'll be the last time I do that.

Set up your customers in your calendar in Outlook to remind them of upcoming detail appointments. Set every new customer up as you go and Outlook automatically sends them an e-mail for an appointment. Then, just follow up with a phone call(voice to voice) to confirm. You'd be amazed with the retention rate. It's much cheaper than sending them a piece of mail. Everyone's on-line now a days and perfer e-mail over any other media.

I agree. You spend then you feel like you're working for free!

Exactly! I have a few customers who pay for several weekly washes in advance because their jobs mean they don't always have time each visit to stop what they are doing and pay me. Nice to get those big checks but the next several visits it is like you are not getting paid.

What I just do with my regulars is keep track of when their cars were last waxed/detailed and just let them know a few weeks ahead of time they will need more than just a wash on ________ date.
