Selling Junk or Collectible?

You could make all 3 shine! :rofl

I know what you mean, when I was a kid 50 bucks bought you a running beater. These rust buckets are 1K?!?! Get real.

Supply and demand. Some parts aren't able to be bought new anymore, so if you want to get yours running, you need a parts car. If they look like crap in real life and you do some touch ups to the pics, then you are misrepresenting them. I think it's better to show the "flaws" up front.

Also, there's a diffference in inflation/today's dollar. Remember also that when some of us were kids, $3-4,000 bought a house.

As someone who has been a classic car nut for too long, I'll point out that yea, they may look like junk, and the pictures are pretty funny to look at, but all of the above vehicles are pretty rare. And, as parts cars, chances are flippin' good that they will fetch every bit of their asking prices. Take for instance the Buick -- parts for Chevys' and Fords' of that era are reproduced by the truckload; even Caddy, Olds, & Pontiac, have some. But for a Buick -- well good luck. Move on to the Galixie -- those bumpers alone will fetch 500 bucks (if, of course all that cr@p isn't drilled and/or welded). As for the shortbed truck -- it is a pretty rare one, most you will find are big-window long beds. If someone had the time to disasemble these, and list the parts on ebay, they would, without a doubt, more than tripple their investments.

A little PwS and you can sell them for triple!

but that's exactly what....

I understand that some of these are finds for collectors looking for parts or to do frame up's...but looking at how they are presented in most of the pics makes them less than appealing...anyhow..thanks for your incite...done a 5 minute wash lately:D:D:D:D:D
