Sealants

Weight is the enemy.
Are there any sealants that I can get at a local store? I'm ok with getting them online if that's my only option, but because I'm currently doing only the cars in my driveway I don't want to have to wait for it to come in the mail. I'm not sure on NXT, it says Synthetic Polymers on the bottle, but I'm still not sure. Any suggestions.

NXT is a good product, especially on darker cars. It has some cleaning and swirl hiding abilities too. It is one of the better off the shelf products I have used.

NXT is a good off-the-shelf product & I found Wal-Mart to have the best price $13.26. It hides minor, minor swirls & smells pretty good (so I'm told).

Only problem I had with NXT is it didn't bead-up very long. Two washes with NXT car wash & the beading was gone. Plan on topping with a good carnauba like Natty's, s100 (any Harley shop), #16 (some CarQuests), LS, or Collinite #845 (some CarQuests) if you're looking for durability & longevity from off-the-shelf products.

How long does it last, I'm thinking of putting some coats on the cars for the winter, but I want something that will last through the entire unpredictable Ohio winter.

If you want something that lasts that long then you will most likely have to order it online. I use Klasse Sealant Glaze for the Utah winters. The salt is killer on cars and Klasse has really done well for me. Meguiar's #20 might be a good option too. That is one that you may be able to find locally if you can locate a Meguiar's distributor. Check your auto paint supply stores. They are usually 3M or Meguiar's distributors.

There are two other Meguiar's synthetics that you may be able to find locally. Polymer Sealant #20 is part of the Mirror Glaze line (beige bottle). Medallion Premium Paint Protection (black bottle) is also occasionally available over the counter.
